EXCERPT from Organic Change: Chapter 5 - The Playground of Life
“We are here to play in the creative womb of the Universe, drawing great and wonderful adventures out of the bubbling cauldron of life. It is never work in the earthly sense of the word. It is play. It is love. It is joy. It is freedom. All we could ever need for this lifetime’s expedition is within us and the universal connection we all have.
Imagine if you will, that your mind is at rest. As each thought enters, you quietly and gently dismiss it and see it float on its merry way. Even upsetting and painful thoughts loosen their grip as you enter this world of peace and calm. One by one all intrusions to this peace grow smaller and smaller, of less and less importance.
Soon you are aware only of the sound of your breathing, in and out, rhythmically, in and out. Stray thoughts disappear as quickly as they come. Surrounding sounds penetrate your awareness, but they seem far away. Peace, perfect peace.
And something else. A spark, here and there, in the exquisite tranquillity of your being, a spark of consciousness, bubbling in joyful possibility from the infinite sea of all potentiality. A spark, an idea, a multitude of ideas, each one brilliantly reflecting the light of enchanted creation. Anything is possible. Peace, yet the thrill of passion flaring through cells of your being. Adventures. An infinite variety of exciting possibilities, just simmering in this endless sea of potential creation, on and on, forever and ever. A magical and miraculous dimension where all things are possible.
Breathing deeply, relaxing gently, more and more, you allow your awareness to roam through this endless sea of potential creation. Watch. Here and there a spark sends up showers of radiant light, attracting you to focus your attention upon its activity. Perhaps words, perhaps feelings, pictures, or inner knowings.
Continue to focus upon these sparks as they form themselves into a thought, an idea, a sensation. Maintain that focus, and the thoughts crystallize into a stream of ideas. A new consciousness is born. At this level there is connection with all of the universe, with all wisdom, with all life.
This playground of life is no illusion. Though it is experienced in a non physical realm and can easily be called imagination, it is nevertheless more real than the physical world. There is only one way this truth can be known, and that is through personal experience. The more I delve into this dimension the more my life works.
What we put our attention on expands. When we place our attention on the possibilities, then the possibilities expand. When we place our attention on problems, then the problems expand. Even a short meditation time where attention is placed on the infinite potential of life, if done daily, will begin creating changes that are magical and surprising. There is something about the letting go and letting God process that is organic and miraculous. In fact, we are simply attuned to our natural essence and allowing life to express itself through us.”
